Which wedding dress actually suits which figure?
Tipps22. Mai 2024
Yes, I do! The time has finally come: the wedding has arrived and the man of your dreams is walking you down the aisle. No question, you want to be the most beautiful woman on earth for him. That's why you shouldn't wait too long to start looking for a wedding dress. It is certain that you will not find the perfect wedding dress straight away and that the search may well take longer. But how exactly do you find the dress of your dreams in all the masses of dresses?

V FORM
This type is characterized by pronounced shoulders, full breasts and a narrow waist and hips.
THE BIRN TYPE
The pear type has a narrow upper body with not very pronounced shoulders. The hips and thighs, on the other hand, are feminine.
THE APPLE TYPE
The apple type has a rather rounded body center (O-shape), often a generous cleavage, feminine hips and slender legs.
THE H-SHAPE
This body shape has fewer curves. Women with an H-shaped body tend to have a slender build with a relatively straight chest, waist and hips.
THE HOURGLASS TYPE
Shoulders and hips are roughly the same width. The hourglass has beautiful, feminine curves, beautifully shaped breasts, strong thighs and a narrow waist. It is often considered by many to be the ideal size.
Now you know which body type you belong to. Now you have to ask yourself the question: Which wedding dress actually suits my figure?

These wedding dress styles are particularly popular:
THE A-LINE
The A-line is the most popular and figure-flattering cut.
The A-shaped, flared skirt conceals the typical problem areas around the stomach, legs and bottom, while the slim-fitting top turns the décolleté into an eye-catcher. The A-line cut is also visually slimming. A-line dresses flatter all figure types, even in large sizes.
Recommended for:
-Small or petite women
-curvy, feminine shapes
-pregnant brides
As it is a very popular model, our couples that we shoot your wedding story usually prefer this model.
We have listed some examples for you, which you can find on our wedding story page.

THE PRINCESS'S DREAM: THE DUCHESS WEDDING DRESS
This opportunity only comes around once in your life: Feel like Cinderella or Sissi in your princess wedding dress! The most opulent of all wedding dress styles poses some small challenges: getting out of the car, going to the toilet ... But it's definitely worth it! No other wedding dress gives you such a unique bridal feeling! These dresses have a figure-hugging corset bodice and a wide, bell-shaped, floor-length skirt, which is usually supported by a hoop skirt. Duchess styles are often extravagantly decorated with lots of tulle, pearls or glitter.
Recommended for:
-slim upper body
-with wider hips
-romantic fairytale weddings
We are honest ...Shooting a wedding reportage with a princess wedding dress is a challenge. Nevertheless, it suits some of our brides very well and the pictures tell a fairytale wedding story.
We have prepared some of them for you
THE I-LINE
This cut is narrow and straight. The dresses usually have a slit in the skirt, which provides more freedom of movement.
Slim women with an X, H and V shape can wear this cut best.
One of our wedding photographers' favorite styles is the I-line. It shows off the shape of the body while posing beautifully. That's why it adds color to the wedding stories
THE EMPIRE
Empire dresses look very elegant, but also playful and girly. This style series is characterized by a high waist seam directly below the bust, from which the dress flows loosely and airily to the floor. The waist is often accentuated with an accessory such as a belt or bow. The décolleté and shoulders are emphasized.
Women with an XS and straight shape (or H-shape) can wear this cut best, but pregnant brides also look beautiful in a dress like this.
Recommended for:
-petite or curvy women
-excellent wearing comfort due to light fabrics
-pregnant women
THE DRUMPET
The trumpet shape is related to the mermaid dress. It is cut close across the bust, waist and hips, but in contrast to the mermaid, it flares out more from the middle of the thigh.
The shape is ideal for athletic, tall women or those with a slim silhouette and feminine curves.
Recommended for:
-slim yet curvy brides
-Tall women
When photographing wedding reportages, one of the most important things for both brides and us wedding photographers is a wedding dress in which you can move comfortably and look stylish. Both are possible with this model. We would like to show you this with one of our wedding reportages.
THE FISHTAIL LINE, MERMAID SHAPE
Your guests and your future husband will think “wow!” when you walk down the aisle in a figure-hugging wedding dress. No other cut is so seductive, feminine and elegant!
-Cut: mermaid cut (tight up to the thigh/knee, then flared)
-Details: often with a breathtaking back neckline and long train
-Figure: looks particularly good on tall brides with beautiful curves. Also in large sizes.
To wear a wedding dress in this shape, you have to have a really good body. However, we have to say that this wedding dress is one of the favorite styles of us wedding photographers. We wanted to show you an example of wedding reportage
THE MINIDRESS
Cheeky and self-confident or chic and elegant? Both are possible in a short wedding dress! The bridal short version is a loyal companion of many brides to the registry office, but also looks beautiful at the big celebration!
Recommended for:
-girlish, youthful types of women
-tall, slim women
-emphasize pretty legs
Although it is not preferred for weddings, it is a very popular style for save the date or registry office shoots. We wanted to share the movie Celine and Khaled with you on our Save The Date concept page.
THE ETUI DRESS
The short, modern dress in the straight, so-called H-line has a figure-hugging, close-fitting cut, problem areas are barely concealed by the close fit. It is perfect for: Slim, athletic women and small brides.
TWO-PART
As the name suggests, the classic two-piece consists of two separate garments: a corsage and a skirt. The two parts can be combined harmoniously or as a contrast, for example with different colors. The corsage is usually cut slightly longer, sits on the hips and covers the waistband of the skirt. Furthermore, the two-piece has no characteristic cut shape and can be used with most of the above-mentioned cut shapes with a corset top. As the corsage fits close to the upper body, the two-piece is mainly suitable for women with narrow shoulders.
THE DIRNDL AS A WEDDING DRESS
If you are looking for an alternative to the classic wedding dress and would like to get married in the traditional style, you can choose the dirndl as your wedding dress. The bridal dirndl may be unusual, but it is still classic. They are not only available in white or cream but also in different colors. Ultimately, the perfect wedding dress should always emphasize our assets. But let's be honest: it is much more important that the wedding dress reflects our personality. Because only then will we feel that magical, unique feeling when we put it on.
